Say Hello to Lano 2.0

A lot has changed since we first launched Lano as a Freelancer Management System in 2018.

As the world of work drastically evolved over the past few years, so did the needs of our customers. And one thing stood out the most. We saw more companies wanting a fast and compliant way to hire full-time employees and contractors around the globe. 

So we created an Employer of Record (EOR) solution that made this possible without the cost or hassle of setting up legal entities in other countries. For many companies, having the flexibility and possibility to hire the right people anywhere in the world has never been more important. And we’ve been working hard to make this experience even better for our customers.

Which is why today, we’re excited to introduce Lano 2.0. It’s the Lano you know and love, but better (and with a brand new look). With our new and improved Global Employment solution, it’s never been easier to hire and pay talent in 170+ countries - and stay compliant doing it.

Read on to find out some of the ways we’ve made it even easier to hire the talent you need, no matter where in the world they’re located…

Let’s start from the top. The first thing you’ll notice is the Lano app now has a fresh new look and feel. We’ve completely redesigned it from top to bottom to provide a simpler, more organized experience for our users. For example, you’ll notice the sidebar menu is now less cluttered and has more intuitive labels, so you can find your way around easier and get work done faster in fewer clicks.

But there’s a lot more to it than just a design makeover. Not only is it nicer to look at with a more modern design, it’s also a lot easier to use with additional new features we think you’ll like (more on that below).

Being able to employ people in other countries without worrying about compliance is why thousands of companies love using Lano. In the new app, we’ve gone the extra mile to make this experience even better. With global compliance rules now built into the hiring flow, you’ll never go wrong when employing people abroad.

For example, let’s say you want to hire a full-time employee in Germany and enter 18 days of annual leave, that’s below the legal minimum. So we’ll flag it as not meeting the minimum requirement for that country and tell you how to fix it so you’re not left guessing what to enter instead.

These rules automatically apply to each country for things like:

• Minimum wage requirements

• Annual leave allowances

• Work permit requirements

• Probation periods

You can rely on these handy guardrails to help make sure your company is protected and always compliant with local labor laws. We take care of all the complex compliance work so you don’t have to.

There’s more to Lano 2.0 than just a nice new look. It’s now a leaner product with less unnecessary or distracting features. We’ve redesigned the entire hiring flow so it’s optimized for employing full-time employees, not freelancers.

With everything redesigned from scratch, we’ve kept the things you loved about the old Lano and took out the stuff you didn’t for a smoother hiring process. In this case, less is most definitely more.

We’ve added some shiny new things and improved some old things too. Like the Employment Cost Calculator for example. Before you had to go through the whole hiring process to use it. Now you can jump straight to it from the navigation menu instead.

Perfect for seeing what the total cost could be for employing a new team member before going ahead with the hiring process. Just choose a country and enter a salary to get a breakdown of your estimated costs in seconds. Easy, right?

You’ll also notice other improvements like a more intuitive hiring flow with clearer instructions. Plus you’ll see a bunch of helpful tips and local employment insights throughout the app to help you breeze through the onboarding process with confidence.
