Have you noticed something when visiting the Lano website lately? Apart from all the new blog posts we keep adding, of course. Yes, that’s right. Our website has a new look and feel to it.
At Lano, we’re all about keeping up with the latest industry trends, improving our products, and refining our vision. It’s been a while since we last updated our website, so we thought it was time for a little refresh.
Let us introduce you to our new website! Read on as we explain what our new design looks like, why it matters, and what’s next in line.
Those of you who are familiar with Lano will notice that we haven’t made any radical changes to our website and visuals. At our core, we’re still the same Lano with the same ambition to provide our customers with tailored global payroll and employment solutions and outstanding customer service.
And while our brand identity and design system remain the same, we’ve made some changes to how we use different design elements. It’s still the same tool set, but we’ve evolved in the way we work with it.
For us, this underlines the evolution we’ve gone through as a company. Lano was founded in 2018 and we’ve been continuously refining our vision and product offering ever since, building on our core values and our very own “Lano essence”. Our new website reflects this evolution and refinement from a design point of view.
So, what exactly did we change then? We set out on a mission to make our whole website more eye-catching and easier to visually navigate so that users can quickly identify the most important information and elements.
First, we created a new and improved visual hierarchy, using bold and semibold settings for headlines and smaller but still important elements to hierarchize them properly.
Second, we created more contrast between elements. While before, everything was somewhat blending in, we now use our fonts and colors differently to highlight elements and create contrast where needed (e.g. through light background).
Third, we changed to an overall more rounded design to make it softer on the eye and more approachable. For instance, you’ll notice that any boxes we use on the Lano website now have rounded edges.
Last but not least, we also made some small adaptations of elements and layouts, including our illustrations. We still like to keep our illustrations simple and to the point. However, we felt like we needed to find a way to balance out the cold vector style to align with our general aim of creating a page look that aligns with our desire to be approachable as a brand. That’s why our illustrations now feature a noise texture to make them a bit more raw.
Another thing you may have noticed is that we incorporated several animations into our main pages to make them more dynamic, visually attractive, and engaging.
Initially starting off as an international contractor management solution, Lano’s services and solutions offering has greatly evolved. We’ve grown more mature as a brand and we want to convey this via our new design, taking inspiration from current industry standards while still reserving ourselves that tiny bit of playfulness that has been part of Lano right from the beginning.
With its global payroll consolidation platform, Lano is a tech company at heart. That’s why we decided to keep the design techy, open, and friendly, presenting ourselves as an approachable company to underline our efforts to enable our customers to easily build and scale their global teams.
Innovation is yet another aspect that played an important role for developing the new design of our website. We wanted to create an innovative design to go with our innovative global payroll solution.
Unify and streamline global payroll
Set up payroll in new locations
Compliantly hire employees in 170+ countries
Pay global teams at low cost
Innovation was indeed one of the main drivers for giving our website a fresh, new look. The aim was to align our website with the level of innovation we put into our payroll consolidation platform.
But that’s not all. More than anything, we wanted to improve the usability and readability of our website to enhance the user experience. Thanks to better contrast and hierarchization, it’s easier than ever to identify key elements and navigate through the pages, while the animations make it much more dynamic and visually appealing.
At Lano, we keep improving our products and offerings to cater to our clients needs in the best possible way, and we put the same drive for continuous improvement into our website. Instead of sticking with one and the same design for too long, we want to keep our website alive and current. Our design team is continuously working towards improving the website and refining the impact it has on people.
