As we wrap up the year, we wanted to take a look back at what happened at Lano in 2023.
Last year, we celebrated Lano’s 5th anniversary. We’ve come a long way. While we’re continuing to build upon the mission we’ve had since day one—to enable companies to grow global teams—we evolved in our approach to bring global payroll and embedded fintech together.
That's why we've not only added powerful new features to our Global Employment solution but also built the world's first truly Global Payroll Consolidation platform to run payroll across multiple countries, entities, and providers in a single place.
Read on to learn more about our highlights in 2023 and get a little sneak preview of what’s to come in 2024.
A lot has happened on the product side in the last 12 months. Let's take a look at some of the highlights that we’re especially proud of.
In January, we launched Lano 2.0. It’s the Lano you know and love, but better and with a fresh new look and feel. With our new and improved Global Employment solution, it’s easier than ever to hire and pay talent in over 170 countries. Global compliance rules are now built directly into the hiring flow, so you’ll never go wrong when employing people abroad.
For many multinational companies, outsourcing is the easiest way to compliantly run payroll around the world. But managing multiple in-country payroll providers comes with its own set of challenges. In May, we introduced our Global Payroll Consolidation solution that is specifically designed to solve the challenges of running a multi-country payroll. Thanks to our new solutions, HR and Finance teams can now easily manage payroll processes for different entities in one platform.
To provide our customers with the best possible tools and services for hiring and paying their global teams, we’ve started our Lano Marketplace. With our growing ecosystem of integrations, perks, and benefits, we’re enhancing the Lano experience for thousands of businesses from across the globe.
Managing global teams might have become the new normal, but the complexities of standardizing and unifying payroll architectures across different countries and employment types have remained unchanged. In March, we created a new brand identity to reflect our commitment to building a consolidated payroll platform to unify fragmented compliance and payroll infrastructures across geographies.
Last year, the content wheels were turning particularly fast at Lano. Our team was busy producing loads of insightful content pieces and bringing live some awesome new web projects. Here are last year’s highlights in terms of content, resources, and more.
Working with global teams might be the new normal, but many organizations are still lacking the necessary knowledge to compliantly handle global payroll and employment. That’s why we launched our Global Employment & Payroll Academy that boasts loads of informative content on how to manage payroll from local to global scale and how to hire, onboard, and manage talent around the world.
The world of payroll and HR is full of technical terms that can be hard to understand. One of our many content projects in 2023 was to create a comprehensive HR and payroll glossary, boasting over 200 entries, from absence management to wrongful termination. So, next time you stumble across specialist payroll and HR terms, such as accrued payroll, garden leave, or PTO, and are unsure about what they mean, simply browse our glossary to find the definition you are looking for.
Payroll is incredibly complex, multifaceted, and challenging. But more than anything, it is one of the crucial business processes that cannot go wrong. That’s why our content production and design teams joined forces last year to create a comprehensive A to Z payroll management guide. The guide is the ultimate knowledge base you need to successfully manage payroll for global teams, containing everything from the basics of payroll processing to the complexities of multi-country payroll.
As you already know, we started 2023 with a complete makeover of our brand identity. While we were on it, we thought our blog could also do with a little design refresh. The result was a complete new look for the Lano Blog that follows the principles of our new brand identity and makes it easier than ever for you to browse through hundreds of articles on global hiring, payroll, compliance, and much, much more.
Last year, we finally figured out what to do with all our ebooks, webinars, podcast episodes, and other content pieces. All our amazing resources are now bundled in a clearly structured resources hub, making it easier for clients, visitors and partners to browse through heaps of content. Of course, we have also added some fresh new resources to the collection. Feel free to head straight over to the Lano Resources Hub to get valuable insights that have already helped more than 2,000 companies build and manage global teams.
At Lano, we help companies of all sizes grow their global teams through payroll and global employment solutions. Our clients' achievements through Lano are no secret, which is why we decided to launch a new case studies page that holds a selection of our customer success stories. If you want to know more about how Lano helps companies save time and money when building global teams, there is no better place to start your research.

After all the amazing accomplishments of last year, we’re already looking forward to reaching many more milestones in 2024.
This year, we’ll focus on expanding our integration capacities to create an even better Lano experience for our clients. New and exciting integrations that are in the pipeline include integrations with Lucca, Workday, HiBob, and BambooHR.
A second big project will be to strengthen the payroll and employment functionalities of our platform. Our team will work on improving our hiring and onboarding flows for EOR employees, introducing automations for payroll cycle runs, and creating smoother employee management functions.
Also, stay tuned and look forward to heaps of insightful content on our blog and in our Lano Academy.
Have a great start to the new year!
